One. Four. Five.

just a simple 'hello'

Roka Restaurant

For a friend's birthday and part of our overall post-exam celebration, we decided to give ourselves a treat and go to an upper class restaurant by the name of Roka.

It is located on Charlotte street and has the outlook that would scare anyone on a student budget. But since it was a celebration and all, we went for it.

Roka is a Japanese restaurant with both traditional and fusion dishes. The prices range from around 10 to 20 pounds a dish. Their seafood risotto-like-thing was amazing, roast fish (i think bream) was also good. But for the price, i really don't think that the overall standard of the food is worth it.

The restaurant's design is stunning and the presentation of the food (as seen) is crazy labour intensive. There was this one cook that all he did was make sure all the dishes look immaculate. So, i guess you are paying for the 'dining experience'. It was good, real good.

So... it depends on whether you are willing to pay for presentation and experience. If you just want good food, it is not the place for you. But, I'll go again. haha.
