Small Talk

I love making small talk. It's one of the simple pleasures in life. At that moment when you first meet a person, there is minimal judgment. Apart from their physical appearance, which may be deceiving, there is no way to know what kind of person he is. A few lines of small talk changes everything. Through their choice of words, intonation, content, facial expression, body language, you get a much more complete picture of who the stranger is. It is taking 'people watching' to the next level: Instead of merely appreciating people through their actions/appearance, one can add a certain depth to individuals through the simple act of 'polite meaningless words'.
