After asking around for people's opinion on whether I should get my ears pierced or not, I realised that people usually gave one of two types of answers. Those that gave an opinion on whether I would look good with earrings (ie. would they suit me) and those that gave an opinion on whether I fit (or should fit) into the image that goes along with having earrings.
The former is the type of answer I'm looking for. The latter, I feel is merely a reflection of their personal interactions with people with pierced ears. If that person has had a lot of friends who have also got their ears pierced, he's usually for the piercing. If the person's only interaction is that of the rebellious stereotype, he's usually against the piercing.
